How to Homeschool Bilingually

My homeschooling approach is holistic because I like to make education as close to real-life as possible, which means lessons and subjects are seamless.

When it comes to languages, I use the Immersive approach.

One day I will speak to my child in English and the next day, if we are doing Homeschooling we will choose the other language. Of course, this is something we adjust to situations as we go, but we have fun using this set-up as an opportunity to learn and practice communication skills.

Our HomeschoolToGo Families are on board with this technique, though some may choose to do most days in one language over the other depending on the needs of their families. Nonetheless, we always provide all content in both languages for them to be able to accomplish Bilingual Homeschooling in a Holistic way.

Try switching up the languages from one day to another and see how it works for you!

I find it is best to start with the strongest language, and that way they can use what they remember from the last day, as a reference and learn through association (while also strengthening their memory).

Here is a gift from us:

In our program, we use one journal and a box of crayons for all of our learning!

Below you can download a Page from our English Week 2 Bilingual Activity Book. These activities focus on explaining the concept of Duality/ Opposites/Our Relationship to the Other.

If you keep scrolling you will find the Spanish version,

Keep scrolling for a bonus (French).

Feel free to download, print, and incorporate into your holistic homeschooling this season!

Hope you and your family enjoy all the Holistic Learning

Happy Holidays!
